Paint is the No. 1 driver for hardware stores. So when Ace Hardware came to BMDG asking for help to reinvent its paint department, we were excited to take on the challenge. For the first time ever, Ace Hardware would have a “store within a store” to sell its Clark+Kensington and Valspar paints.
Our work on this reinvention of Ace Hardware’s paint department, the Paint Studio, incorporated the studio’s colorful palette. Work included fixture design, store signage, and point-of-sale marketing. Our involvement extended beyond the fixtures and into the literature that filled them. We created several types of collateral, including hue-based inspirational color cards and a glossy project magazine that showcased Clark+Kensington’s “Do It in a Day” projects.
